Most instances are created by Resolve while importing scan data. In some cases, such as during manual penetration testing, you might need to create instances manually.
- Open a workspace.
- From the top menu, select .
- Click the project entry.
- Click the Workspaces tab.
- To switch the workspace, click the displayed workspace name, then select the workspace.
- Select one of these options:
- In the finding tree, right-click a node and select Add Manual Instance.
This pre-populates the master finding and variation based on the selected node.
- Above the finding tree, click the Add Manual Instance icon ( ).
This does not pre-populate any information; you must manually select the master finding and variation.
- In the finding tree, right-click a node and select Add Manual Instance.
- Select the workspace to add the instance to.
- If needed, select the master finding.
- Select the asset.
- In the Asset Information area, click Add an asset.
- Locate the asset and click the Select button in the right-most column.
- (Optional) Modify the instance name.
- Select the state.
- (Optional) Enter or select details about the instance, such as affected properties.
- (Optional) Add one or more verification items.
- Click Paste or click to add a verification item.
- (Optional) Select Include in Report.
- Enter the name.
- Select the type of verification.
- In the Description field, enter or paste the verification information.
- Click Save.
- Click Add & Create New or Add Instance.
